Captain Aaron Stevens was the choir director at the 1st Congregational Church. He was the father of Dwight Aaron Stevens and Addie Stevens.

Aaron Stevens was born on 3 August 1803 in Lisbon, New London, Connecticut, United States; his father, Aaron Stevens, was 38, and his mother, Alethiah Sharp, was 38. 

He married Lydia Meech on 7 October 1824, in Newent, Lisbon, New London, Connecticut, United States. They had at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 31 January 1878, in Norwich, New London, Connecticut, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Norwich, New London, Connecticut, United States.
